Matt Whitmarsh started his architectural career in late 1996 working for ex-education board education specialists, Frampton & Associates.
He moved from there to well known education specialists, Gisler Architects in early 1998, where he achieved registration as an architect in 2000, and where he was involved in many hundreds of projects, residential, educational and commercial.
Matt left Gisler Architects in April 2014 to set up Whitmarsh Architects with wife Lara.

Lara Whitmarsh started her architectural career in late 1995 working for Dennis Pocock Architects in Tauranga, followed by a stint with Ian Thorn Architects. In late 1996 she started working for education specialists Frampton & Associates in Hamilton.
She left there in late 1997 and worked for Jeff Monckton & Associates. She achieved registration while self-employed via mentor Godfrey Larsen.
Lara has been self-employed under the name Lara Whitmarsh Architect for many years while raising a large family and now joins husband Matt at Whitmarsh Architects.
